Years Making Flags & Banners
Sq. Ft. Facility in Philadelphia
MetFlag is a part of D. C. Humphrys, a textile company operating within the Philadelphia city limits since 1874. Starting by sewing covers to conestoga wagons, Humphrys moved quickly into the flag industry, where it has been since. Starting in 1949, we've been seling high-quality flags & banners under the Metropolitan Flag & Banner name.
Our staff started by making flags the same way Betsy Ross made the first American Flag here in Philadelphia -- by stitching each shape and color onto a solid background. This process, called Appliqué, is a service that we and just a handful of other flag makers in the United States still offer. While most of our flags and banners are now digitally printed, this high level of craftsmanship is something customers will find in all of our work.
We Are the Manufacturer
Most of our competitors in this industry either resell the work of a large manufacturer, or import mass-produced alternatives from overseas. We are committed to manufacturing quality products ourselves, here in the United States. For custom products, this is a big advantage in fulfillment speed. This dedication to domestic production has lead to MetFlag's reputation for producing superior products on-time and on-budget.
